Good stuff!  I've been going here for years and they still have the best mex food in the city.

This review is based on the taquitos.

Hubbers was across the street to pick up a prescription. I anticipated it may take some time, and I was in dire need of a small snack. I was getting hANgry, I'll admit...

Seven dollars and change and less than 5 minutes later, it was good to go.

Even packed up in a to-go box, this dish was visually pleasing. 6-piece combo placed on a bed of lettuce topped with guac, salsa and sour cream. One word: delicious. Seven and change was beyond reasonable.

Did I mentioned it's enough for two?

FOOD: 5. Nothing to complain about.
    SERVICE: 4.
    VALUE: 5.
PARKING: Private lot and street parking available.
    OVERALL: 4.5.

I might convince Hubbers to dine in here sometime in the future.

I don't know why I am giving two stars when I walked out but I am. The restroom smelled foul and when I sat down, there were ants crawling across my table. I don't know, maybe the food's good. I wouldn't know.

Sad unfortunate experience...This place is across the street from the post office, Kaiser Richmond, and not far from the Foods CO Shops, stores, restaurants. It's in a good location for foot traffic, hungry people, & their fans.  They have utilized this location well.  I am not a fan.  I was a hungry person today. Even then I left hungry.  Why? I have limited time for lunch and i did not want to wait for my order to be redone.  BUT had i had more time, i would have returned my plate and requested it be plated properly.

I also make my own Mexican food at home.  10 out 10.
So I am super critical with Mexican restaurants.  If a Mexican restaurant can't make the simplest dishes such as a quesadilla or enchilada then it has no business being open or in existence.

I order, something simple, 2 cheese enchiladas with green sauce, black beans instead of refried beans,no salsa on the lettuce, no sour cream, and an orange agua fresca.

    This is what happened:

    1. I was served mild salsa and chips...that was ok

    2. The waitress brought the orange agua fresca...too sweet and didnt tast much like orange...could have been a lot better

    3.  The waitress brought my plate and walked away quickly.

    4.  I looked at my plate and the lettuce had traces of sour cream...I really dont like the look of sour cream and it makes me gag...so I proceeded to push the lettuce away...as I did that I uncovered more traces of sour cream...i pushed that away...then i decided i wouldn't eat the lettuce...BUT as I cut a piece of the enchilada that was drenched in green sauce there was a glob of sour cream next to it...to top things off it completely looked like the plate was covered with green sauce to cover up the sour cream...that's low...remake the damn plate again lazy asses..that low...

    I was disgusted, disappointed.
    I didnt eat. Awful. Awful.
    Sour cream makes me gag.

BEWARE This place covered up their mistake instead of owning it and avoided remaking the plate again.  Waitress walked away quickly.

Last time I was here they gave me refried beans instead of black beans...I let it go and just didnt eat the beans...

FYI...this place is not authentic, they do use a microwave to reheat

My recommendation for this place:  clean up, remodel, get the order right the first time...own your mistakes, take responsibility, and redo the order again...or just sell this place to someone else who can bring it.

I just have to say that this restaurant is probably one of my faves here in Richmond. Spacious, abundant seating, excellent customer service, and affordable authentic Mexican food? Yes! I love the tortas here and appreciate how convenient the location is (right in Downtown Richmond, by Kaiser and BART). Definitely recommend folks trying this place out when they come around Richmond!
